The Folsoms and I had a blast taking photos at the International Rose Test Garden! The roses are currently in full bloom and we took advantage of the rainbow of colors within the garden. This garden is one of my favorite places in the whole world. I go there often and love to photograph there in the summer and fall. It’s such a beautiful place to be!
This family session was so full of the sweetest moments. The Folsoms wanted a range of looks, so we spent half our time downtown in the Pearl District, and the other half at the International Rose Test Garden. Mama Celeste is a graphic designer, and it shows in these photos! Her and I spent time styling the session before the day, but she is the true mastermind behind all this polish and cohesion. In this blog, I’m showing our Pearl outing - full of casual, fun outfits!

Peninsula Park is so special and is hands down my favorite place to make portraits! The fountain there always gets me! Chelsie wanted to do something fun and girly for her 30th birthday. She decided to celebrate by gifting herself a birthday photo session. It was a magical evening filled with cake, balloons, glitter, and flowers. Happy almost birthday, Chelsie! I had so much fun hanging out with you!
I’m a Leo and I love birthday celebrations!! Is your birthday coming up? Let’s celebrate! Contact me here to book a celebratory photo session. Also, I want to know: what’s your favorite birthday memory? Mine is all the years I made myself a piñata for my birthday, which I used to do every year as a kid. I loved planning my birthdays from beginning to end - the best way to host, the best games, and the best snacks! Tell me your favorite birthday memory the comments below!
I recently had the pleasure of seeing my good friend from middle school get engaged! My friend Katie got engaged to her college sweetheart, Grant. I got to visit them in Seattle a couple of weekends ago to celebrate. We took some fun engagement photos and I met Grant’s family. It was so sweet to reunite with my friend and to see her so happy!
Recently engaged? Congratulations! I would love to capture your love. Reach out to me here to ask about sessions or just to say hi. I love, love, love hearing from you!
My best friend from childhood just finished the first year of her MFA program! I’m so proud of her.
Aliera has beautiful, long hair that has been about the same length ever since I met her. I was eager to see what it would look like if I put pink roses in between the spaces in her braid. We did just that and had a fun little photo session this morning. Thank you for letting me photograph you, Aliera! I love you!

I love polished, stylized photographs as much as the next person. But sometimes the moments you really want to capture are a little less perfect. This home photography session with my former photography teacher and her family wasn’t always perfect. Rachael’s daughter, Oona, had missed a nap and the lighting was dim at times. I could have taken Rachael’s family to a park with even lighting all around. I could have brought a soft box to light the photographs we took inside her home. I’ve done this plenty of times with folks! But some of these moments would have been lost had I done that. I love the way these photographs turned out. They show raw emotion and real expressions because they were taken where the family is most comfortable. I’m so grateful for people like Rachael who invite me into their homes to capture these sweet little moments. Thank you.
My friend Kaïa and I met in our freshman year of high school. I had just started getting into photography, and Kaïa was also a photographer. We’d go out all the time together and set up little photoshoots. This past week, we went out like old times for a spring photo session on the Vista Bridge and Portland’s International Rose Test Garden. But this time, we’re eleven years older. I’ll always love and appreciate Kaïa for sharing my love for photography. Thanks for coming out with me, my friend!
