Hiking brings me so much joy. I experience chronic back pain and muscle tension from working on a computer and carrying heavy equipment, among other things. I’m currently working with a PT (yay!), so I’m really excited about learning exercises to help heal myself. Right now, though, there are still some types of exercise I avoid due to pain. I love hiking, though, because I always feel good during and after hiking.
Have you ever hiked Smith Rock? It’s an incredible place and has something for everyone. I like it because I can hike Misery Ridge Trail, which is difficult but short, and then afterward I can hike the trails that are way more chill. Smith Rock’s trails are beautiful - you’re either taking in the stunning views on top of the rocks or you get a magical view of the water when you’re down lower.
Ben and I took a day trip to Smith Rock earlier this week, which was a much needed getaway from work. We live just under three hours away from the park, so it was a lot of driving, but still doable for a day trip. There’s also camping there, though, if you’d like to visit and stay awhile.
Enjoy the photos from our hike, and let me know in the comments: have you been to Smith Rock? Would you go back? What’s your favorite place to visit in Oregon? I love hearing from you!
